Maggie recently met another new friend. Her name is Arianna and she was born in mid October. Her dad, Jon, and her mom, Caroline, are friends of Matt and I. I was surprised at just how well she did with a newborn. Although, in the past few weeks Maggie has become a lot more interested in dolls (she calls them all baby), so I don't know how she would do now. She especially likes the tiny doll that her cousin Grace gave to her when she was just born.
Every once in a wh
ile when I forget to send an extra outfit up with Maggie when Katherine babysits for her she ends up wearing Christopher's clothing. When I saw her wearing this original (its from when Christopher's dad was little) Return of the Jedi t-shirt I had to take some pictures. We had a really good photo session. I was especially pleased with the coy smile I got in the picture shown here. I read in a book that my mom found for me that children this young aren't manipulative, but I just don't believe it for a minute. Maggie knows how to get what she wants and looks like this one are all part of the game.
I know it was a really bad idea to cross the room to get the camera and take a picture, but I had to get a picture of Maggie climbing the pile of boxes that are still taking up lots of space in our bedroom. She wanted to get at the superman doll that she is holding and it didn't matter that she had to climb Mt. Cardboard to get at him. You can see that she is quite pleased with herself. And, ever since then she has been climbing all over the place: onto the couch, onto tables, onto chairs, trying to get up over the couch...
Recently we went to visit Esme and Baya (oh, and Nathaniel and Rebecca) down in Rhode Island. The girls had a lot of fun planning with Matt's piano together. It was great to see them interacting more now that Maggie can walk and run after her cousins. They had a great day of stealing each other's toys from one another! You can see that the piano was a great hit, there was a change of clothes and st
ill they went back to the piano to play some more, well, Esme and Baya did. Maggie took advantage of the fact that they were distracted and played with their pony.
